It was created in 1985 to protect wildlife and the conservation of biodiversity of the area and it is now considered the real paradise of Cilento, a few miles from the coast of the Gulf of Policastro.
Here, waterfalls, springs and small lakes with the seventeenth century windmill make this place one of the most beautiful in the province of Salerno.
The Oasis is the largest conservation project of WWF Italy and represents the practical support in defense of the natural landscape and biodiversity. Founded in 1985, has an area of 607 hectares. It is an oasis of fauna protection, subject to constraints and geological landscape. The management is directed, in agreement with the municipality of Morigerati.
The town lies on top of a cliff overlooking the WWF Morigerati the cave, inside which you can admire the wonderful resurgence of Bussento.
It has nature trails and picnic area for a visit to the caves. We perform: guided tours, work camps, week, green fields of study and research.
The Oasis is primarily a land preservation, protection of biodiversity, maintenance of landscapes and natural values​​, but not only. The existence of an Oasis has allowed and allows the protection of a piece of land that would have been lost or degraded even irreversible actions.
The WWF decided to set up the nature trails so that everyone can appreciate and fully enjoy the natural environment in which they live, providing good stimuli for the senses: the sight, there are views through the implementation of small areas parking and the possibility of observation of animals in conditions of calm for visitors and the animals themselves. A path that facilitates the contact with nature, without causing any disturbance.
