CLIMATE IN ISCHIA

Ischia has a typically marine climate creating a relatively stable temperature in contrast to that of the mainland having brief heavy rainfall and sea breezes carrying a high level of oxygen, which almost electrify the air. There is no doubt that Ischia’s climate and position have contributed to its successful tourism. Naples although being so close has a totally different climate with hotter summers and colder winters. The varied morphology of the island apart from offering many pleasant walks aids the circulation of local breezes and alters rainfall. Christopher Mennella, a famous Ischitan climatologist described the island as “The climatic jewel of Italy”.
